Why I do WordPress?

Hello, my website visitors.

My greetings to HR Managers and developers of frontend and backend technologies who read this text.

I want to make some little but important points.

All of us are developing websites  with React, yes?, or Vue js, or similar, and we are developing backend with Laravel, right? Do you ever count how much needs to be invested in a group of developers to get some average e-commerce shop up and running. You need to pay for developers, testers, marketing specialists, SEO specialists, content writers,  to each of them you pay at least 1-2 thousand USD in a month, and you may still get an unpredictable amount of bugs, limited functionality, suspicious performance of reactive frontend technologies.
So you need to pay 50.000, or 100.000 USD yearly and keep going for one or two years, to get your store.
We all know that  a middle size, or small business in Armenia (why not, in the world), can never afford this, but the matter is that these businesses are in the most need of digitalisation, and growth and they are one of the most extensive targets for website builders. Their dreams to make an online business never come true, because we are all finding frameworks like React, Laravel the only way to achieve a simple result, to make a website. Despite of having tons of conflicts, which we get on each composer update, npm packages update, even with the most reputable UI libraries or packages, there are always many dependencies, the authors of which are lazy and don't update their code, and often we are protecting our code from all of these nightmare, by just sticking to initial project dependencies, and not updating it at all. Despite all of this nightmare we all find these technologies as the only way to build a website.

Let me show where my thoughts are going.

Let’s discuss yet another ecosystem, which is the WordPress.

O~, that's bad code, will tell PHP developers, it does not have correct MySql  tables relations set up etc.

O~, jQuery is very bad as an interactivity supporting framework,  will tell React, Vue js developers, it’s not optimised, in response to a request it returns all the DOM in HTTP connection, not just a small JSON string as React. Very bad, very bad…

Yet, WordPress is powering 40% of the web currently. It's a huge market. WordPress has an incomparable ecosystem. There are plugins for everything, multi vendor shops, ticketing systems, e-commerce, donation systems, anything, and you even do not need to code with WordPress. Most plugins, which do a fantastic amount of job are free, like Woo-commerce, and even the most specific functionality supporting ones can be licensed for just 50 - 100 USD. That's said, I build WordPress shops, with completely custom design, with fully supported functionality, with satisfying js enhancements, within a few days,  just for  200 USD. And you can compare the 200 USD spent  with multiple thousands investments needed in the React/Laravel ecosystem?

People, we do not need to work for absolute perfect websites or technologies, we need to work to support and grow each other, to get small business and other fair people up and running with affordable prices and optimal solutions, That’s how I think. And I am happy to tell this small trick, this huge wisdom to other developers who may struggle now, with working 8 hours a day, writing the same hooks, if - else, and the same again and again, just look over the current state of development, don’t you find that it is not optimal?
